Town & Country Cleaning recently won the tender and partnered with HADB Kitchin on a new extension at St. John’s Church, Hartley Wintney.
St John’s is the parish church of Hartley Wintney and Elvetham. It is a lively, evangelical Anglican church, which serves the whole village community through a host of clubs, courses and activities, and the vicar is Rev. Canon Mark Tanner.
A £2.3m building project, which broke ground in April 2012, and due for completion in early autumn 2013, will provide much needed additional space for the church’s growing youth and children’s work as well as new halls and facilities for church and community use.
Detailed planning consent was granted for a large extension of the existing church in order to provide teaching and support facilities within the conservation area. These will include a new youth centre which will be open to both church and community users together with meeting rooms and service facilities. There is a useful video of the extension on the following link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJDcjrIvNbs
The new building will provide a base for Radio Hartley Wintney, a community drop-in for the elderly and families, offer more pastoral care, provide a dedicated space for our youth, refreshment facilities, offices and counseling rooms for our clergy – and much more! The ageing infrastructure will be replaced with new toilets, better lighting, safer and more accessible entrances, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, better storage and a well-equipped kitchen.
Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “we won the contract based on HADB Kitchin’s strong appreciation for the importance of this project to the local community. They could probably source cheaper cleaning but what they needed was value for money. Town & Country Cleaning has delivered an exceptional clean for a very competitive price. It’s great to support such a valuable cause in the village”.
