Town & Country Cleaning...Completes Stunning High Spec Detached New Build near Woking, Surrey – Surrey Cleaners

Brook House 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has just completed a stunning high spec 5-bedroom detached new build near Woking, Surrey. The house comes with extensive landscaped grounds, a swimming pool, garden house, attached double garage and security gate. Brook House is expected to be sold off-market to a private buyer for around £4m.

The ground floor comprises a magnificent open entrance and stairway leading to a skylight window roof, an open plan kitchen and informal dining area with adjoining lounge, study, utility and downstairs bathroom, and a formal reception lounge and formal dining room, both over looking the landscaped garden and patio.

The 2nd floor comprises 5 separate double bedrooms each with their own en-suite bathroom and larger than normal landing with seating area. The master bedroom is particularly spectacular with a glass balcony view overlooking the garden to die for, a very decorative light hanging from a high ceiling, its own walk in dressing room and stairs leading to a separate mezzanine floor.

The 3rd floor has an additional self-contained flat with its own bedroom, bathroom and reception lounge but very much a natural extension of the main house. The house has an imposing handcrafted central wooden stairway leading up to a skylight window roof. The whole house is built and furnished to the very highest specification.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Brook House is stunning; it genuinely took my breath away when I saw the final finish. Kirkby Homes have built one of the best houses I’ve seen in a long while and I know our cleaning team worked tirelessly to give a final presentation fitting the house”.

The clean from Town & Country Cleaning involved several visits to complete the builders clean to both inside and outside the property, all the windows, doors and frames, and a full clean from top-to-bottom of all surfaces, fixtures and fittings.

Lee Turner said, “This type of clean is extensive. The size of the property is one thing but the additional work is in all the detail cleaning around the furnishings that come with it. The builders clean is followed by repeated sparkle cleans to present the property to show home condition which is maintained throughout the sales process”.

Town & Country Cleaning has some 65 staff managing +300 customers across both commercial and domestic clients in Surrey, Hampshire and across the south of England. Accreditations include BIFM (British Institute of Facilities Management), British Chamber of Commerce, ISO9001 and insurance to £10m.

Town & Country Cleaning...“Play Days” Charity Donation For Disability Challengers in Farnham and Guildford #TimeToPlay!

Disability Challengers

Town & Country Cleaning has given a charity donation to support Disability Challengers “Play Days” (Twitter #TimeToPlay!) campaign. A recent Challengers Business Club was supported by local businesses as well as Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health.

Challengers is a registered children's charity, established in 1979, dedicated to providing exciting and challenging play and leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people. They do this through centres in Guildford and Farnham and through a range of community based projects across Surrey. Challengers has a brand new site in Stoke Park in Guildford, which Town & Country Cleaning recently cleaned.

Play is a vital part of growing up – children learn important physical, creative, intellectual, emotional and social skills through playing, but disabled children miss out every day because of a huge lack of facilities and support networks. Disability Challengers is encouraging people and companies to support their “Play Days’ campaign to raise money for this vital initiative and give disabled children more play experiences.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, " It's great to support Disability Challengers. Town & Country Cleaning has very strong values and that includes supporting community-based organisations”.

Lee Turner said, “The future is about creating shared value, or CSV, which is about wealth creation and job creation, as well as doing good in the community and the environment. Good companies will do more than simply give charity donations; they will align values with their customers, partners and suppliers. We look to partner with anyone who shares similar values to us, for the long-term”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Supports New National Living Wage

National Living Wage

Town & Country Cleaning supports the aims of the new National Living Wage. For more information see www.livingwage.org.uk - summary below:

What is it?

  • An hourly rate set independently and updated annually
  • The Living Wage is calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK
  • The current UK Living Wage is £7.85 an hour and £9.15/hr in London
  • Employers choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis
  • The Living Wage enjoys cross party support, with public backing from the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition
  • Paying the Living Wage is good for business, good for the individual and good for society
  • The Living Wage Employer Mark and Service Provider Recognition Scheme provide an ethical badge for responsible pay

What are the benefits?

1) Good For Business

An independent study examining the business benefits of implementing a Living Wage policy in London found that more than 80% of employers believe that the Living Wage had enhanced the quality of the work of their staff, while absenteeism had fallen by approximately 25%. Two thirds of employers reported a significant impact on recruitment and retention within their organisation. 70% of employers felt that the Living Wage had increased consumer awareness of their organisation’s commitment to be an ethical employer. Following the adoption of the Living Wage PwC found turnover of contractors fell from 4% to 1%.

2) Good For Families

The Living Wage affords people the opportunity to provide for themselves and their families. 75% of employees reported increases in work quality as a result of receiving the Living Wage. 50% of employees felt that the Living Wage had made them more willing to implement changes in their working practices; enabled them to require fewer concessions to effect change; and made them more likely to adopt changes more quickly.

3) Good for Society

The Living Wage campaign was launched in 2001 by parents in East London, who were frustrated that working two minimum wage jobs left no time for family life. The causes of poverty are complex and in order to improve lives there should be a package of solutions across policy areas. The Living Wage can be part of the solution.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We pay our employees more than our competitors and support the aims of the new National Living Wage. If you pay people more they are more motivated to do a better job and provide greater continuity of service”.

“Our customers really benefit from the people we employ, many whom have been with the Company for the more than 10 years. This is in stark contrast to what the market has generally done in being very price driven. There are many hard working people out there doing jobs most of us don’t want to do, and society should reward them just a little bit more. This is also good for society. Low-paid workers generally spend their income immediately in the local economy benefiting all of us”.

Lee Turner said, “This is all part of a very important development in creating shared value (CSV)…creating wealth and job creation, doing good in the community, being environmentally responsible, and aligning values with all stakeholders including customers, partners, suppliers and employees”.

Town & Country Cleaning…The Ultimate in High Spec Contemporary Living

glasshouse1

Town & Country Cleaning recently cleaned a new build mansion in Headley, Bordon. The house was a sizeable high spec new build covering 3 floors, multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, receptions rooms and a huge open plan kitchen/conservatory area, as well as an annex flat above self-contained garages just off to the main building and adjoined by a bridge.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “this is about the biggest residential new build we’ve done to date. The house was huge and we took it from a building site to showroom condition ready for client handover.”

The scale and complexity of the property and exacting standards of the site manager were all challenges Town & Country Cleaning had to meet on the project. This included it being a high 3-story building, the size and height of the glass panes and working around trades people in the final days of completion, whilst steadily raising the level of clean to a full sparkle finish.

“I think it is official…this has to be the best managed site we’ve ever seen. The Site Manager, Peter Willis really did prepare the site in a very professional and organised way. His attention to detail is of the highest standards, which naturally puts pressure on all contractors including us, but it is always a pleasure to deal with professionals that have this approach to their work.”

“We like to think we go the extra mile with these cleans, examples of which include, cleaning the windows twice, placing Neutradol deorderisers in all key rooms and facilitating the clean of the existing Aga cooker with a specialist company that Aga recommended. We like to add value in any way we can to demonstrate a better customer service for the end customer moving in.”

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Spring Hill is absolutely stunning and we have the photos and references to give to any builder working on similar projects requiring a new cleaning contractor”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Helps Launch Farnborough Renal Dialysis Unit – Farnborough Cleaners

Farnborough Renal Dialysis Unit

Town & Country Cleaning helps launch Farnborough Renal Dialysis Unit in Farnborough, Hampshire. The main contractor was Sandycroft Construction Limited, based in Stoke-on-Trent and the clean involved a thorough builders sparkle clean to present the new renal unit to hospital operational standards.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We were asked to help launch the Farnborough Renal Dialysis Unit from a large national contractor that was not based in the local area. They needed a cleaning company with scale, capability, integrity and professionalism to deliver the clean to hospital standards, and they choose Town & Country Cleaning”.

Lee Turner said, “It was a real pleasure to deal with Sandycroft who were extremely professional in the build quality, site preparation and overall site management in ensuring the hospital got exactly what they were paying for. Town & Country Cleaning…Guildford Commercial Retail Redevelopment into Residential - Guildford Cleaners

Norfolk House Guildford High Street 345x2501

Town & Country Cleaning has been commissioned by Woking based builder to clean a recently developed residential block of flats in central Guildford, Surrey. The site is well known in Guildford as it is above the previous home of Argos, next door to the Royal Grammar School in Guildford high street.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Retail conversion to residential is an increasing trend we are seeing in the UK. Obviously, the traditional retail model is being challenged by online retailers and retailers developing a bricks-and-clicks strategy. As retail usage decreases in our town centres, it is very useful to redevelop this space into residential, especially flats above retail premises.”

“We need to see more of this happening in the UK, i.e. space above shops, which was historically part of the shop’s staff accommodation and now pretty much dormant, being redeveloped into more affordable flat accommodation in the centre of town which young people can more easily afford to buy or rent”.

The clean was a commercial deep clean of 16 flats and communal space, which included a full internal clean throughout, all internal windows and all fixtures and fittings, and a final sparkle clean. Demand for the flats is expected to be very high with Guildford having such a buoyant local property market.

Town & Country Cleaning has some 65 staff managing +300 customers across both commercial and domestic clients in Surrey, Hampshire and the south of England. Accreditations include BIFM (British Institute of Facilities Management), British Chamber of Commerce, ISO9001 and insurance to £10m.

Town & Country Cleaning…Partners with Prestigious House Builder - Thakeham Homes

Hunters Place 345x250

Town & Country Cleaning is now working closely with Thakeham Homes, the prestigious medium-sized regional house builder. The first project underway is Hunters Place, which is a 30-plot residential site in Hindhead near Haslemere.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Thakeham Homes is an exceptional builder with very exacting standards. Cleaning new build and recently refurbished properties is a real passion for the company and Thakeham Homes is a good example of just how professional we are at this type of clean”.

“It is important we build relationships with mid-tier builders and property developers. We tender through the national builders but the process is very competitive and often bureaucratic. The smaller independents are great to work with but they don’t provide the volume of work we need, so regional companies building more than 20 homes a year is our sweet spot”.

The cleaning at Hunters Place includes maintaining the sales suite, commercial premises and show home, as well as all handover/completion cleans to new owners moving in. The clean includes cleaning all windows and fixtures and fittings to show home condition.

Town & Country Cleaning…Completes Another Home Refurbishment Clean - Virginia Water Cleaners

Virgina Water 350x260

We are working with the builders with multiple cleans as each phase of the refurbishment is completed. This included ensuring the project did not prevent the family from having the best Christmas possible”.

“We complete on average up to 6 residential builders a week and this project is particularly interesting. The property is large with a great deal of character features whilst incorporating new modern building works and fixtures and fittings”.

“When the owners are living or part living in a property we clean, it usually involves navigating around personal possessions and having the skill to complete a builders clean and a domestic sparkle clean. Town & Country Cleaning…Completes Clean on Guildford Barn Conversion

Barn Conversion 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has successfully completed the clean of a residential barn conversion just outside Guildford, Surrey.

The clean involved first removing all items from the building, followed by an extensive vacuum clean and subsequent wipe down of the entire interior of the building. The use of a SkyVac vacuum cleaner enabled a more efficient clean without the risk and cost of using expensive equipment such as scaffolding or a mobile platform scissor lift.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We enjoy barn conversion cleans as you get immense job satisfaction from transforming an old barn into something with distinct potential for residential use”.

“Our clean always involves a 2-stage approach, sometimes on the same day and sometimes over a number of days in which to provide layered cleaning and manage any recycling of dust. We first use a SkyVac vacuum cleaner, which can clean to 65ft in height without any assistance in ladders or scaffolding. All surfaces are carefully wiped down and the floor is given an extensive clean using Selden Strongarm, a heavy-duty formula with a strong powerful action, which rapidly cuts through grime and dirt to strip the floor back to its core natural state. The clean is finished with a minimal amount of water to rinse dirt away and then the floor is mopped dry.

Town & Country Cleaning…Specialist Kitchen Deep Clean at Bohunt Secondary School in Liphook, Hampshire

Bohunt 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has been awarded the contract to clean at Bohunt Secondary School in Liphook with a specialist deep clean of all the kitchen facilities including the main kitchen and student cooking facilities.

The clean involves an extensive deep clean of the kitchens including the ceiling, walls, floors and all the equipment, and is part of the school maintaining its 5-star food hygiene accreditation.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Bohunt is an extremely important customer to us. We will do everything we can to ensure a professional and cost effective service is delivered to the school. Being an academy school, Bohunt has greater flexibility to manage its contractors and it’s great that they awarded the contract to us”.

As part of Town & Country Cleaning’s commitment to Bohunt, Lee Turner recently attended a BIFM (British Institute of Facilities Management) members’ event to learn best practice on campus FM. The event was held at the University of Sussex, just outside Brighton and included industry leading companies such as Compass and Interserve, as well as the Chief Financial Officer of the University of Sussex.

Bohunt has an “outstanding” Ofsted rating and recently won two TES (Times Educational Supplement) awards for 2014: Secondary School of the Year and Overall School of the Year.

“Bohunt secured this award for its persistent efforts to share what it has learned, as well excelling across the board, not just academically but in terms of students’ personal development too. Bohunt is an outstanding school that acts beyond its own walls to share its highly successful approach – and it deserves all the plaudits it gets”.

Bohunt School is a mixed Academy with more than 1,300 students aged 11-16 years old, and the state school of choice for Liphook and surrounding region across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. With a high level of achievement and standards, its ethos is capsulated in three simple words: enjoy, respect, achieve.

Bohunt’s kitchen and canteen promote positive eating habits by offering a range of healthy and interesting menus to pupils, staff and visitors to the school, and Harrison Catering provides all the catering.

Lee Turner said, “The plan is to become an integral part of the management team at Bohunt to deliver an ever increasing level of service to the school. We have the eyes and ears of many parents whose children attend the school and we are committed to giving an exceptional service. We recently gave the school a management report detailing our recommendations to improve the campus building to reflect its academic and teaching achievements”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Tenancy-End Clean of Large Rented Family Home in Grayshott

Camelia House 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has recently completed a end-of-tenancy clean of a large rented family home in Grayshott, Hindhead.

The project included a large family kitchen, utility, dining room, main reception room, conservatory and 4 bedrooms with a family bathroom and en-suite. The clean included a full carpet deep clean throughout the property. The external tidy included all the windows, a large double garage, front and rear gardens, sweeping and jet-washing all the patio and driveway.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We were already cleaning this house on a weekly basis so it was clean, but when it comes to a full exit clean of a rented property, we make sure we clean everything again and not take anything for granted”.

The property was managed by a professional lettings estate agency and the final check out was with an independent inventory clerk producing a detailed check out report. In many instances it is important to detail everything but to clearly differentiate from what can be cleaned and what is general wear and tear of the property.

“At this time, if tenants don’t invest in a professional clean they can often be confronted with a larger bill whereby the agency has called in separate contractors to resolve issues. This always leads to paying more in the end and a delay to getting any deposit back. The best way to manage leaving a rental property is to pay for a professional cleaning company but to make sure they manage any final snag lists as part of their service, giving you greater peace of mind. ”.

Town & Country Cleaning works with many estate agents on rental properties across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex, completing on average, two sparkle cleans a week.

Town & Country Cleaning…Removal Exit Clean of Large Country House

Lythe Farm House 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has completed a “removal exit clean” of a large country house, which has just been sold off market with the help of a prestigious local estate agent. As part of the sale agreement, the sellers and buyers mutually agreed to have the property completely cleared and cleaned in preparation for extensive refurbishment later this year.

The property, originally 3 separate properties, was knocked into one to create a substantial country house with bags of character and many unique features. The house comprises 8 bedrooms with multiple bathrooms and en-suites, a grand hall and adjoining corridors to the main reception rooms including dining room, family room, a grand living room, kitchen and additional rooms. The house is set in large grounds and adjoining acres with fantastic views of the Hampshire countryside.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “This was a very difficult brief. We were referred to the client from a very prestigious local estate agent, which means we had to deliver exceptional service and value for money. Whilst the house was huge and the new owners were keen to get their money’s worth, the clean really required an efficient process in just preparing for the refurbishment”.

“In this example, you have to manage the cleaners more closely who can easily get too bogged down in giving a deeper clean in one particular room, rather than getting through the whole house. If I’m honest, we failed at that and ended up providing a huge amount of cleaning for the price we charged, but at least we can say we delivered on service and price. The vacuuming alone was roughly 12 hours and we had 8 cleaners throughout the day on the property”.

“Our team never likes to see a property beat them. With new builds you get that instant gratification from handing off a spectacular looking property to a showroom finish. With refurbished properties you often don’t get that immediate job satisfaction and so we always spend time after the job to remind everyone what we actually achieved”.

Town & Country Cleaning completed approximately 40 hours of cleaning in one visit and can manage house clearance, removal and garden/grounds maintenance as part of their cleaning service.

Town & Country Cleaning…Cleans New Build Development in Critchmere Lane, Haslemere

Critchmere Lane 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning is now working closely with Kirkby Homes, the prestigious house builder to complete a new build housing development in Critchmere Lane, Haslemere.

Town & Country Cleaning is managing all the builders cleans and sparkle cleans including windows and maintaining the show house throughout the sales process. It is thought that all houses have been sold or are under offer, even before the houses have been completed, illustrating the strength of the local housing market in affluent towns like Haslemere.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We partner with Kirkby Homes across their portfolio and this project involved maintaining the show house over an extended period of weeks to best showcase the development”.

The show house represents the finish of all the houses and is to a very high spec, which includes high quality furnishings throughout the property. Kirkby Homes is selling the properties through local estate agent Clarke Gammon Wellers.

Lee Turner said, “It’s great to get such positive feedback from David Kirkby when he complimented us to the team working on site. For the top man to say he really likes our company because we always deliver to a high quality and never needing supervision, really motivated the team”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Tenancy-End Clean of Prestigious Listed Building in Godalming

Chiddingfold House 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has recently completed an end-of-tenancy clean of a large prestigious listed building in Godalming, Surrey.

The project included accommodation over four floors with basement kitchen and utility area, the ground floor having multiple reception rooms and office space, and a further two floors of bedrooms, bathrooms and en-suites. The clean was a full sparkle clean involving all the fixtures and fittings, detailed spot cleaning of all the windows internally, externally and frames, as well as an extensive carpet deep clean.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “this property was huge and the carpet clean alone took most of the day for two cleaners. We have a brand new professional Prochem Steempro 2000, which enables us to do a really good job reviving old carpets”.

“Cleaning for prestigious homes comes with its own set of challenges. This property was huge, old and had many character features that needed a bit of attention. It is very easy to underestimate the work needed to bring a large period property of this type back to its best. In many instances it’s not just cleaning that’s required but a bit of painting and decorating would help immensely”.

“The challenge is to come to a compromise between all the invested parties, especially when there is a tight budget involved. The tenant wants to pay as little as possible and is often not even present at the time of exit. The landlord usually wants as much as they can get for their money. And, hopefully the lettings agency manages expectations for everyone!”.

Town & Country Cleaning works with many independent builders across the South of England, completing on average, two sparkle cleans a week.

Town & Country Cleaning…Specialists in Commercial Kitchen Deep Cleans

Kitchen Deep Clean 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has completed another deep clean of a large commercial kitchen. The kitchen clean included the main structure of the building, the floor and all the newly installed equipment contained in the kitchen. This included extensive shelving, tables, storage cabinets, sinks, fridges, cookers, grills and extraction units.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We provide a kitchen deep clean for many organisations on a regular basis. Our customers include Hampshire County Council where we clean many local school kitchens out of term time. Other customers include local pubs, restaurants, golf clubs and other types of membership organisations”.

Lee Turner said, “For anyone considering a kitchen deep clean and wanting peace of mind in the service we provide, they should just ask us to provide customer references and photos, which will be more than adequate in convincing them we know what we’re doing. We always get asked back from our customers when the time comes for another clean”.

Town & Country Cleaning regularly performs kitchen deep cleans across Hampshire, Surrey and surrounding counties. This includes cleaning newly fitted kitchens in new builds, as well as cleaning for kitchens that have been operational for many years. A key recommendation for anyone considering a kitchen clean is:

a) Use a professional cleaning company

b) Only pay the full amount when you are satisfied with the results, usually by signing a customer satisfaction sheet after the clean

Lee Turner said, “ We often find that the smaller kitchen tries to do it themselves and ends up calling us to help compete the job. We are happy to do this and we’re happy to give some on the job training whilst we clean. Usually a combination of a regular deep clean combined with good housekeeping and maintenance is the formula for maintaining a good professional kitchen”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Completes Builders and Launch Clean of Brand New Greene King Pub in Havant, Portsmouth

Langbrook Farm 345x250

Town & Country Cleaning has successfully completed the builders and launch clean of a brand new restaurant and pub in Havant, just outside Portsmouth. Langbrook Farm, is located on the edge of Langstone Technology Park and the A3023 Langstone Road.

The pub is owned by Greene King, which has become one of the largest British owned breweries in the UK. Langbrook Farm opens to the public at the end of June and is set to become one of the most prominent pubs in the Portsmouth area.

The main building contractor, Vale Builders, also based in Portsmouth, has commissioned Town & Country Cleaning on previous projects, both commercial and residential.

The clean at Langbrook Farm was extensive and involved a very large commercial new build covering the following areas:

·       All windows, doors and frames (internal/external)

·       First floor accommodation including 3 separate flats and staff rooms

·       Multiple kitchens, bathrooms and toilets

·       Back-office rooms including storage, plant equipment and facilities

·       Main restaurant area including tables and chairs

·       Main bar area

·       Internal children’s play area

·       Kitchen and back-of-house areas

·       All fixtures and fittings

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Langbrook Farm is a sizeable commercial new build. Vale Builders are the best we know at managing commercial projects of this size and they always ensure quality throughout the build. Vale Builders used Town & Country Cleaning because they know we can manage large projects that involve a great of hard work and pressure to deliver, even in challenging circumstances”.

Lee Turner said, “Vale know we will get the job done and with minimal supervision and fuss, and to a high standard. The detailed cleaning in the kitchen was huge and the contractors were still completing final fix of much of the bar area in the last few hours of the handover clean. It was a very tricky project. Having a good working relationship and trusting each other to deliver is paramount. We have partnered with Vale Builders several times and look forward to the next project and all the challenges it will no doubt throw at us”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Office Clean to Welcome New Tenants

Office 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has completed an office clean in time to welcome new tenants. The office is a sizeable three-storey building with multiple offices, facilities, stairways and approximately 70 windows, and is situated in private grounds with parking.

The office clean involved a rubbish clearance, high-level dusting, all toilets, kitchen and shower rooms cleaned, windows cleaned inside and out, and extensive vacuuming and wipe down. Town & Country Cleaning uses a product called Prochem Shockaway, which is an anti-static, anti-dust removal agent, which is added to hot water, then wet then dry buffed on all main surfaces throughout the property. The office is then treated with Neutradol deodoriser to really freshen up the place and maximise the visitor experience.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We manage many offices across the South, both in terms of ongoing daily/weekly cleaning and one-off project cleans. This office is owned by one of our existing customers, which we have managed their contract clean for several years now”.

After a challenging period for the commercial property market outside, especially outside of central London, the owners are hoping the renewed optimism in the economy is the catalyst for new tenants to move in.

Lee Turner said, “The trick with empty office cleans is to be efficient in the clean; just enough to keep costs down but sufficient to attract new tenants. The sales process can take some time so it is better to have a cleaning company support you throughout the sales process with mini sparkle cleans each time a prospective tenant visits the office. Once a new tenant is secured, a full sparkle and carpet clean just prior to them moving in is always recommended and a nice touch in securing the rental”.

St Thomas 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has partnered with the parish church of St Thomas-on-the Bourne in Farnham, as part of its ongoing contract cleaning requirements. This initially started with a professional deep clean of the kitchen to maintain the church’s excellent 5-star food hygiene rating and has been extended to include ongoing cleaning support.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “The church has an impressive building to maintain and we have been asked to work alongside the existing team of volunteers to provide more professional cleaning support. Our choice of cleaner reflects our approach to fit in with the existing team for the long-term, and we are ready to serve the parish in any way we can”.

Below is a quick introduction to the church:

Town & Country Cleaning…Cleans Large Residential Home in Berkshire Village

Orchard Lea 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has cleaned another refurbished residential house in a small Berkshire village close to Virginia Water. The project was for a full deep clean throughout a large detached property including carpet clean, window cleaning, (both internal/external and frames), and an extensive house clean to a sparkle finish.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “We do several large residential cleans every week. The refurbishment projects are always a challenge and require experience and good judgement when managing a property, which is partly old, partly new, often with the owners living in the property while work is being carried out”.

“Usually, the biggest impact is the building work causing dust to recycle through the rest of someone’s home, especially if they are trying to get on with daily life and have a family to manage at the same time”.

Town & Country Cleaning has extensive experience of residential new build and refurbished property cleans, working with the builders and/or directly with the actual owners. For one-off projects the customer always approves the work, which often then leads to ongoing cleaning in the house and windows.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Our website only shows a fraction of the cleans we do. We manage far too many customers to reference them all and we also respect the privacy of many domestic clients. This is particular pertinent for owners of more affluent properties”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Giving Back to the Community, Cleaning Swimming Pool Facilities of Local School

IMG 9193 345 x 260

Town & Country Cleaning is committed to giving back to the community. One example of this is during the Easter break it completed an extensive clean of the swimming pool facilities of a local school, Grayshott CE Primary School.

The school PTA has been working closely with the school to help resolve various problems, which led to the swimming pool being closed earlier this year. After raising a substantial £6,000 to pay for renovations, which included new pumps, pipe work and filtration systems, the pool has had a final deep clean, ready for the new term after the Easter break.

The project included deep cleaning the whole pool surrounds, floor, glass roof cover, windows and changing rooms. The roof was cleaned using a pure water Reach & Wash system with staff IPAF/PAL certified to work at heights, whilst the remainder of the clean was managed by staff living in Grayshott.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Town & Country Cleaning is committed to giving back to the community. Cleaning local schools and charities are the primary way we focus on our community projects. We recently cleaned the Disability Challengers brand new complex in Stoke Park, Guildford as another example”.

“Grayshott is a village that prides itself on its community engagement through local residents and its website Grayshott.com. The school deserves to have a cleaning contractor, which genuinely wants to do right for the school and put in this kind of service”.

The head teacher, Mr Paul Davies is looking forward to the re-opening of the swimming pool and is planning to hold a swimathon soon after Easter to celebrate the occasion and hopefully raise a further £1,500 for an automated chemical dosage system for the pool. You can donate to this cause by contacting the school.

Town & Country Cleaning…Refurbished 4-Bed Detached Sparkle Clean in Shamley Green, Guildford

IMG 9125 345 x 260

Town & Country Cleaning has recently completed on another sparkle clean of a new refurbished 4-bedroom detached family home in Shamley Green, Guildford.

The project included a large family kitchen, utility, dining room, main reception room, 4 bedrooms, family bathroom and en-suite bathrooms, together with all windows inside and out and a jet wash of the garden patio. The house preparation from the builder was first class, which enabled a full sparkle clean in one visit and to include all fixtures and fittings.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “property development and refurbishment is a real passion for the company. We love to clean for residential customers who have invested in extending their home with a quality builder. Haynes Builders delivered a very high quality finish to the property and it was a real pleasure to work with them”.

“On this particular project, we were very aware of the sensitivity of the owners to the use of chemicals and the impact caused to the environment and their family. We used cleaning solutions that have a low impact on the environment and deliver a natural and safe finish to the home. This includes using a mild disinfectant solution on all kitchen surfaces”.

Town & Country Cleaning works with many independent builders across the South of England, completing on average, two sparkle cleans a week.

“We like working with regional builders on relatively high-value houses. This usually means the build is a high spec, the builder respects and values good workmanship, and we can build a closer relationship with them, spanning multiple projects over many years.  We are looking forward to working for Haynes Builders for the long term”.

Town & Country Cleaning...Specialists in Retail Showroom Deep Clean to a High Finish

IMG 9054 copy

Town & Country Cleaning has been awarded the opportunity to clean multiple retail showrooms across the south of England, which involves supporting the launch of newly refurbished kitchen and bathroom retail showrooms.

The first showroom to be cleaned was Haslemere, followed shortly thereafter by Portsmouth and another 5 showroom sites are to follow across the South. All showroom cleans involve a huge focus on attention to detail and high-touch cleaning. Each of the showrooms has been newly refurbished to a very high standard with brand new kitchen and bathroom units and full tiling throughout.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “The Haslemere clean was a top priority. Their customer had moved quickly to open the showroom without the project and cleaning being completed. This is rare but also demonstrates where retail is at in the economy…every aspect of a retail operation needs to be optimised”.

“The showroom staff were left in the position of having to clean the customer facilities themselves, which we rectified by immediately assigning one of our cleaners to the site even before we had received purchase order confirmation. I believe this was the right thing to do, as it was an opportunity to demonstrate our customer service to both our shop fitting partner as well as their customer. Within an hour of knowing about the showroom we had made an immediate impact”.

The second project in the space of two days was to complete on the Portsmouth showroom, which was larger in scale and already cleaned to a basic standard.  Town & Country Cleaning quickly completed on this project to allow the showroom to look its best as trade picks up before Easter.

The cleaning operation generally involves 4 experienced professional cleaners for a medium-sized retail showroom using Prochem Shockaway, which is an anti-static/dust removal cleaning agent that is wet then dry buffed to a high-finish using microfiber cloths. The floor has a manual treatment of first agitating and scrubbing with grout remover, followed by all water being completely removed using a large wet vacuum cleaner. At all times the fixtures/fittings are both cleaned and protected, and work is completed only on the say so of the acting site manager with a signed customer satisfaction sheet.

Town & Country Cleaning…Domestic Cleaning for Residents of Busbridge Hall, Godalming to Compliment Communal and Window Clean

Busbridge Hall 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning is now cleaning for the residents of Busbridge Hall, in Godalming near Guildford with domestic cleaning services. The company has been cleaning the communal areas and windows since 2002.

Busbridge Hall is a famous period home just south of Guildford and comprises of multiple privately owned properties, all with period features and extensive windows, whilst sharing the beautiful grounds of some significant scale.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Busbridge Hall is a CV building site, meaning we get a great deal of credibility in the Surrey area for cleaning luxury housing of this scale. All our staff know how important the customer is, which is reflected in their work”.

“Our window cleaning team is the best in the south of England and I’m very proud of their professionalism and capabilities. This includes having multiple pure water Reach & Wash window cleaning systems as well as having old-school attention to detail when spot cleaning the windows and the frames, which many window cleaners refuse to do”.

“They also are IPAL/PAF certified to work at heights and operate mobile platform equipment for the larger commercial sites, as well as insurance under the company to £10m and safe contractor accreditation...something that many window cleaners again do not have”.

Town & Country Cleaning always considers each individual customer when assigning cleaning staff to a property. At Busbridge Hall, the company has a set of window cleaners, which are separate to the communal team, which in turn is different to the cleaners providing domestic cleaning.

Lee Turner said, “our domestic cleaner has strong home-making skills to present someone’s home in the best light. Being pet friendly, flower arranging or fluffing up pillows can make all the difference to a property”.

“One recent example of this approach benefiting our customers is at the prestigious Coombe Hill Golf Club in Kingston, where we recently deep cleaned all the carpets, upholstery and a newly fitted kitchen. I know we have delayed the decision to spend tens of thousands of pounds on new carpets based on the finish we were able to achieve”.

Town & Country Cleaning...Guildford Cleaning For Charity, Disability Challengers

IMG 8920 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning has won the cleaning contract for a brand new charity centre in Guildford, for Disability Challengers.

Challengers is a registered children's charity, established in 1979, dedicated to providing exciting and challenging play and leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people. They do this through centres in Guildford and Farnham and through a range of community based projects across Surrey.

The new site is at the Burpham end of Stoke Park in Guildford. The project clean involved windows and frames, inside and out, external jet wash of the cladding and extensive cleaning throughout the property. This included all internal rooms, reception rooms, kitchens, toilets, carpets and facilities.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, "it's great to work with Disability Challengers. For such a worthwhile cause we guaranteed value for money and a free sparkle clean in the New Year. We will clean their Farnham property completely free of charge and will hope to extend our services across both sites”.

Disability Challengers is the official charity partner for the BEST business group, based in Guildford, which attends a weekly business networking breakfast meeting every Tuesday morning at the YMCA building in Guildford. Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “I know Laura Sercombe, the CEO of Disability Challengers, through BEST but we actually won the contract from our long term partners HA&DB Kitchin, the architect and construction firm based in Alton. HA&DB Kitchin were very perceptive that Town & Country Cleaning would put their heart and soul into this project”.

Town & Country Cleaning...Pubs Ready for Christmas Trading

IMG 8889 345 x 260

Town & Country Cleaning has several pub estates, all of which are gearing up for the all-important Christmas period this year.

Town & Country Cleaning works with numerous pub chains across the south of England including The Spirit Group, Chef & Brewer and McMullen & Son. Town & Country Cleaning cleans for pubs in Southampton, Fleet, Farnham, Aldershot, Odiham, Ash Vale and Mytchett and is looking to extend into new areas including Guildford, Basingstoke and Petersfield.

Usually the cleaning involves a daily clean Monday to Sunday for two cleaners per pub, cleaning all the front of house including bar area, restaurant and toilets. Additional to this, specialist cleaning usually involves regular window cleaning, carpet cleaning and more ad hoc requests like jet-washing decking and bin areas.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “the pubs are bread and butter to the company and are hard work to provide a consistent service throughout the year. It is important we support them at their most critical time of the year. This brings extra challengers and costs but is essential in ensuring service continuity throughout Xmas and New Year celebrations”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Completes New Housing Development in Aldershot

IMG 8287 345x260

Town & Country Cleaning…completes a new housing development of 3 and 4 bedroom properties in central Aldershot, Hampshire. The project is financed and managed by local builder Dean Sewrey after acquiring the site back in 2012 and all plots have already been sold via Mackenzie Smith estate agent.

One of the key features of the new builds is complying with the very latest environmental standards for residential property construction. Dean Sewrey has a strong local reputation for building high specification homes at affordable prices and these properties have been built with today’s first time buyer in mind.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Town & Country Cleaning has partnered with Dean for many years now. We both know what we get from our partnership. Dean manages a very tight site and makes all contractors tidy as they go…he always hands off a property, which has all carpets and fittings in place and is easy to quickly clean to a sparkle finish”.

With so many local employees working in Aldershot, Farnham and the surrounding area, Town & Country Cleaning can easily staff projects of this size. Cleaners can often manage multiple plots in the afternoon, directly after they have finished their regular contract clean.

“Dean Sewrey is an extremely valuable customer and partner for Town & Country Cleaning. We would do anything to ensure we continue to deliver the service he expects from us. We can offer a great price because each property usually requires only one visit and one clean”.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “if I had to build a property for my own family in the local area, Dean Sewrey is one of the builders I would ask to build it”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Wins Contract Clean for Redfields Garden Centre

IMG 8767 345 x 260

Town & Country Cleaning has won the cleaning contract for Redfields Garden Centre in Church Crookham, near Fleet in Hampshire. The contract involves the daily clean, specialist cleaning and daily housekeeping of the brand new flagship garden centre.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “this is a huge milestone for the company. Town & Country Cleaning has been cleaning Redfields Garden Centre since 2009 and is one of our largest single site customers. Every day for the last 5 years, our staff have been putting it in…they are deeply committed and feel part of the Redfields team. It’s a natural progression to extend our partnership into the new store but also proves our growing capability as a company”.

The initial builders clean was completed in 4 phases with the final launch clean throughout the night prior to the 19th November 2013 retail opening.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “this was a very pressurised clean for us but we delivered. The final clean was deferred to 5pm the day before and we had some 15 cleaners working through the night on all aspects of the building. I personally have never worked so hard, working for 19 hours non-stop to ensure we did everything possible in the time we were given. I’m proud of our company’s effort to support Redfields”.

The launch clean involved sparkle cleaning all the internal and external windows, main entrance and retail shop floor, and particular attention was paid to the shopper experience from day one. The new garden centre comprises of a fabulous new restaurant, kitchen, servery, toilets, offices, facilities and obviously the main shop areas and greenhouse.

Cleaning included SkyVac high-level vacuum cleaning, floor cleaning and deep cleaning throughout the build. Dust is obviously recycling due to the site being a building site only a few days prior to the launch. Both the merchandising team and Town & Country Cleaning staff are very conscientious to repeatedly clean store shelving and merchandising over the coming weeks.

The owners of Redfields Garden Centre, The Blue Diamond Group, were keen to launch the new centre in time for Christmas trading in order to maximise return after such a huge investment by the company.

By all accounts, this strategy has paid off.  On the opening day and subsequently, for the following days and first few weeks, the store has been packed with local shoppers wanting to experience the new store.

Early signs shows sales far exceeding initial management forecasts. With another site extension due to be completed in 2014, Redfields is set to become one of the largest garden centres in the south of England.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “the store is absolutely fabulous. The restaurant is stunning and the store really sets itself apart with its product merchandising. I would encourage everyone to go and see it for themselves”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Completes Ascot Housing Plot from Kirkby Homes

IMG 7638 345 x 260

Town & Country Cleaning completes on a new Ascot housing plot from award winning homebuilder, Kirkby Homes.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “Kirkby Homes is an extremely important partner for us. They recently won a prestigious building award based on their quality of build, and it’s great to know they choose Town & Country Cleaning to finish the look”.

The project was managed to a very tight timescale. The initial builders clean involved working around trade contractors and completing the final snag list.

All properties were sold immediately off plan and as part of the sparkle clean, the cleaners were able to ensure the properties look their very best as the buyers visited and took possession of the keys.

Town & Country Cleaning specialises in residential property cleans including builders and sparkle cleans, end of tenancy cleans and regular domestic cleans. In many cases, the new owners request Town & Country Cleaning when they move in to maintain their home. Additional referrals are often received from the state agent or property management company.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “property development and refurbishment is a real passion for the company. The staff really enjoy new build cleans…they are paid considerably more per hour for their hard work and get great job satisfaction from seeing an immediate impact from their clean”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Partners with Hodges & Son on Redfields Garden Centre, a new multi-million site in Church Crookham, Fleet

IMG 8823 345 x 260 (1)

Town & Country Cleaning has contracted with Geo. Hodges & Son Ltd to clean and help launch the new site at Refields Garden Centre, a new multi-million redevelopment in Church Crookham, Fleet.

Based in Staffordshire and established in 1877, Hodges is a privately owned building and civil engineering contractor with a reputation for high quality and client focus. Hodges specialises in large-scale construction projects and has worked with the Blue Diamond Group on multiple sites across the UK.

Founded in Guernsey in 1904 as a fruit export company, the Blue Diamond Group has grown to become the fourth largest garden centre retail group in the UK, employing over 1,000 people. Prior to the involvement from Blue Diamond, Redfields was a true family business, founded in 1977 by father and son team Roy and Richard Jones.

The company’s success is based on offering customers aspirational environments in which to shop for the garden and home. Blue Diamond garden centres are renowned for their customer service and product innovation recognised nationally with business and retail awards.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “we have been cleaning for Redfields Garden Centre since 2009, which is our biggest single site customer. As such we are committed to doing everything we can to support Redfields”.

“This includes a personal guarantee to provide a 24-hour service level agreement. Winning the builders clean contract is a natural extension to cleaning the existing site as well as the ongoing contract cleaning once the new site is open to the public”.

Hodges are very particular about contracting with third party contractors. For example, company information and health and safety documentation was all stipulated prior to giving consent to working at the site. This included Town & Country’s Safe Contractor accreditation, IPAL/PAF certified operatives using scissor lifts, and site-specific detailed risk assessment and method statements.

The Redfields project involves a 4-phased approach to completing the initial builders clean leading up to the launch date on the 19 November 2013. This includes using mobile platform scissor lifts, SkyVac high-level vacuuming, multiple window teams using Reach & Wash systems and spot cleaning of all internal and external windows and cladding, as well as extensive floor, kitchen and restaurant deep cleans. Also, the team needs to support the merchandising teams with repeat cleaning of all retail shelving and units.

Town & Country Cleaning…Partners with HADB Kitchin on New Extension at St. John’s Church, Hartley Wintney

IMG 79431

Town & Country Cleaning recently won the tender and partnered with HADB Kitchin on a new extension at St. John’s Church, Hartley Wintney.

St John's is the parish church of Hartley Wintney and Elvetham. It is a lively, evangelical Anglican church, which serves the whole village community through a host of clubs, courses and activities, and the vicar is Rev. Canon Mark Tanner.

A £2.3m building project, which broke ground in April 2012, and due for completion in early autumn 2013, will provide much needed additional space for the church's growing youth and children's work as well as new halls and facilities for church and community use.

Detailed planning consent was granted for a large extension of the existing church in order to provide teaching and support facilities within the conservation area. These will include a new youth centre which will be open to both church and community users together with meeting rooms and service facilities. There is a useful video of the extension on the following link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJDcjrIvNbs

The new building will provide a base for Radio Hartley Wintney, a community drop-in for the elderly and families, offer more pastoral care, provide a dedicated space for our youth, refreshment facilities, offices and counseling rooms for our clergy – and much more!  The ageing infrastructure will be replaced with new toilets, better lighting, safer and more accessible entrances, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, better storage and a well-equipped kitchen.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “we won the contract based on HADB Kitchin’s strong appreciation for the importance of this project to the local community. They could probably source cheaper cleaning but what they needed was value for money. Town & Country Cleaning has delivered an exceptional clean for a very competitive price. It’s great to support such a valuable cause in the village”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Last Minute Opening of Prestigious Wiltshire College

scaffolding

Town & Country Cleaning partnered with Vale Southern builders to help with the last minute opening of Marlborough College in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

Founded in 1843, Marlborough College is a fully coeducational, independent boarding school for pupils aged between thirteen and eighteen and is famous for its buildings and unique setting in the heart of Marlborough.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “we were given one day’s notice to chuck as many cleaners at the college as we could. On the first day alone we had some 13 cleaners working flat out all day. For the first few days we had the team start from 6am and work right through to 8pm in the evening…we did everything possible to help.”

The project was to clean two key buildings in the college including the museum block and a new purpose built residential block. The cleaning involved external jet washing, deep cleaning through some 50+ rooms as well as external windows and spot cleaning on all internal windows.

Town & Country Cleaning worked the commissioning chief surveyors as well as two main site managers and all the various trades on site to complete the clean.

“The college had a hard deadline with the start of the new term and new students arriving from all over the world. Vale Southern asked us to help the college and we did everything we could possibly do. It had a big impact on the company having to place so many staff on the project, many of whom worked over the weekend and needed other staff to backfill their regular cleans.”

“Vale Southern is an important partner for Town & Country Cleaning where we are looking to expand on many projects throughout the remainder of 2013 and beyond.”

Town & Country Cleaning has been approved by one of its property management customers as part of their contractor accreditation scheme.

Town & Country Cleaning has multiple contracts with communal living projects across the South of England and in particular, in Farnham and Guildford in Surrey and Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Town & Country Cleaning…Wins New Contract Intech Science Centre & Planetarium

news7

One recent example of winning new high profile business is Intech Science Centre & Planetarium. For those living across the South, we have all see the iconic white pyramid building, planetarium and satellite dishes, based just outside Winchester near the A31 bypass.

Intech serves the wider community with educational themed play areas and learning, and hosts trips for many local schools across Hampshire and Surrey. What was important from a building maintenance perspective was to give the roof a well needed clean.

Town & Country Cleaning was contracted to provide the roof clean this summer, which involved two cleaning teams starting from 4am in the morning and using specialist equipment to clean the huge roof.

This equipment included three vehicles supplying water to three Reach & Wash systems extending to 85ft in length as well as a mobile scissor lift. Health and safety was paramount when considering the centre remained open to the public, as well as cleaning at such heights. The team also had to factor in the weather to ensure the extended poles were not unmanageable in strong winds.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “for such an iconic building, it was important to give the building a facelift. It was great to work with Intech and support them as a local charity. We tried to provide an excellent service at nearly half the cost of some of our competitors”.

“We were able to start straight away and with some of our most experienced cleaners in the company, all of whom are PAL/IPAF certified. We ensured we managed the project to the standards required by a company with the SAFE Contractor (SSIP – Safety Schemes in Procurement) accreditation. We also did a full post-project review so that lessons learnt were recorded for the next time we clean this challenging building”.

Town & Country Cleaning…Partners with Prestigious House Builder

news6

Town & Country Cleaning is now working closely with a prestigious medium-sized regional house builder. In just a few days the company has cleaned 2 developments close to Haslemere in Surrey.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “property development and refurbishment is a real passion for the company. We love this kind of work and always try to do something extra for the client”.

“it is important we build relationships with mid-tier builders and property developers. We tender through the national builders but the process is very competitive and often bureaucratic. The smaller independents are great to work with but they don’t provide the volume of work we need, so regional companies building c50-100 homes a year is our sweet spot”.

The first project was cleaning a cottage-style mews house in Haslemere. The second was a large executive detached home in the village of Fernhusrt. Both properties were built to a high specification and required full sparkle cleans throughout, and are currently on the market with Clarke Gammon Wellers.

“On these projects, because we knew the houses were being advertised and viewed immediately by potential buyers, we look to improve the visitor experience in any way we can. This can be as simple as thoroughly sweeping all the paths and the driveway to ensure the outside looks as good as the inside”.

Town & Country Cleaning…New Build Sparkle Clean (RG29)

news5

Town & Country Cleaning was recently awarded the builders and sparkle clean for a brand new cottage style 4-bedroom detached house in Odiham, Hampshire.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “property development and refurbishment is a real passion for the company. We love this kind of work and we will do whatever it takes to deliver excellence”.

“On this project the builder was an independent and had sunk a great deal of cash-flow into the project. It was important we helped present the property at its very best, in time for the opening just 2 days after our clean…the builder was relying on us to deliver”.

The project included lots of detailed solid wood window frames as well as the usual high specification finish that this £700,000 property required. This included a full sparkle finish of all the rooms, windows in/outside and frames as well as all surfaces and fittings.

The project was relatively straightforward but it was important to get right due to the personal commitment the builder had in the project. Town & Country Cleaning works with many independent builders across the South of England, completing on average, two sparkle cleans a week.

“We like working with independent builders on high-value houses. This usually means the build is of high spec, the builder respects and values good workmanship, and we can build a closer relationship with them, spanning multiple projects over many years. On completion, the builder immediately committed to Town & Country Cleaning having all future cleans and referred us to the acting estate agent for work across their portfolio”.

Town & Country Cleaning was recently awarded the builders and sparkle clean for a fantastic £5.5m new build in SW19, Wimbledon.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “property development and refurbishment is a real passion for the company. We love this kind of work and we will do whatever it takes to deliver excellence”.

“The builder was a true partner in the project. The spec was very high and the site was exceptionally clean and tidy. This enabled our cleaning team to deliver the finish the property deserved”.

The project included an initial builders clean followed by a complete sparkle finish of all the rooms, windows in/outside and frames as well as all surfaces and fittings.

The property included 4 floors, 6 double bedrooms, all with walk in wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms, 2 receptions rooms and a large open kitchen diner on the ground floor with further rooms, kitchen, bathroom and cinema room on the basement level.

“It is a real privilege to clean such a beautiful home built to such a high specification. Our cleaning delivered to the builders and their client’s expectations. The owner was so impressed with our service, we now provide the regular clean and garden/grounds maintenance on an ongoing basis”.

John Kinge, technical director of safecontractor said, "Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place."

"More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Town & Country Cleaning has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.

safecontractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”

Under the safecontractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.

Client-organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site. These clients agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received accreditation.

Over one hundred and seventy major nation-wide businesses, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work.

Town & Country Cleaning…Reinvests for Growth in Local Customers and Staff

tclogo

Town & Country Cleaning is a leading independent company with experience of contract cleaning since 1977 and many of its customers and staff have been with the company for over 10 years.

Many local people know Town & Country Cleaning as the original cleaning company based in Farnham, Surrey and its customers cover many sectors including office, retail, pubs, schools, communal housing, new build and residential properties.

The company is now under new management and is investing for future growth in customers and staff. Changes already made include a corporate re-branding exercise, new website and significant improvements to its operations.

Town & Country Cleaning is a Corporate Member of the BIFM (British Institute of Facilities Management) and was recently accredited with the SAFE Contractor (SSIP – Safety Schemes In Procurement) award, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring health and safety is at the forefront of its practices.

Management training included the foundation course in “Understanding Facilities Management”, which covered topics such as…property management, relocation, maintenance, contracting, health and safety, the environment and customer-centric facilities management.

Other improvements include introducing a 24hr 7 days a week manned reception service on the new 0845 222 2000 number and upgrading its fleet of vehicles.

The company has consolidated its supplier base to provide only the best cleaning solutions on the market from manufacturers such as Selden, Prochem, Jeyes, Neutradol and Delphis Eco, the UK’s largest supplier of ecological cleaning products.

Town & Country Cleaning has a combination of some 40 cleaners and specialist subcontractors, all of whom have been with the company for several years, operating across Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “If I had to name one thing that makes us different from your average cleaning company, it is the longevity in the relationships we have, be it customers or staff”.

“We take investing in people very seriously. Many of our competitors employ staff on the minimum wage and often on zero hour contracts we’ve heard so much about in the news. They win business with low prices but provide a poor service to customers”.

“All our staff are locally employed and have a strong affinity with the businesses they work for, which in turns allows the customer to build a long-lasting relationship based on trust and good old honest hard work”.
