Town & Country Cleaning partnered with Vale Southern builders to help with the last minute opening of Marlborough College in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

Founded in 1843, Marlborough College is a fully coeducational, independent boarding school for pupils aged between thirteen and eighteen and is famous for its buildings and unique setting in the heart of Marlborough.

Lee Turner, Managing Director of Town & Country Cleaning said, “we were given one day’s notice to chuck as many cleaners at the college as we could. On the first day alone we had some 13 cleaners working flat out all day. For the first few days we had the team start from 6am and work right through to 8pm in the evening…we did everything possible to help.”

The project was to clean two key buildings in the college including the museum block and a new purpose built residential block. The cleaning involved external jet washing, deep cleaning through some 50+ rooms as well as external windows and spot cleaning on all internal windows.

Town & Country Cleaning worked the commissioning chief surveyors as well as two main site managers and all the various trades on site to complete the clean.

“The college had a hard deadline with the start of the new term and new students arriving from all over the world. Vale Southern asked us to help the college and we did everything we could possibly do. It had a big impact on the company having to place so many staff on the project, many of whom worked over the weekend and needed other staff to backfill their regular cleans.”

“Vale Southern is an important partner for Town & Country Cleaning where we are looking to expand on many projects throughout the remainder of 2013 and beyond.”
