Town & Country Cleaning has completed a “removal exit clean” of a large country house, which has just been sold off market with the help of a prestigious local estate agent. As part of the sale agreement, the sellers and buyers mutually agreed to have the property completely cleared and cleaned in preparation for extensive refurbishment later this year.

The property, originally 3 separate properties, was knocked into one to create a substantial country house with bags of character and many unique features. The house comprises 8 bedrooms with multiple bathrooms and en-suites, a grand hall and adjoining corridors to the main reception rooms including dining room, family room, a grand living room, kitchen and additional rooms. The house is set in large grounds and adjoining acres with fantastic views of the Hampshire countryside.

Whilst the house was huge and the new owners were keen to get their money’s worth, the clean really required an efficient process in just preparing for the refurbishment”.

“In this example, you have to manage the cleaners more closely who can easily get too bogged down in giving a deeper clean in one particular room, rather than getting through the whole house. If I’m honest, we failed at that and ended up providing a huge amount of cleaning for the price we charged, but at least we can say we delivered on service and price. The vacuuming alone was roughly 12 hours and we had 8 cleaners throughout the day on the property”.
